Adrift in space after a strange cosmic phenomena sent them into severe sexual heat, intergalactic trader Joran Zoma and his business partner, Max, are dying. Time is running out, and only a woman from the distant past can save them.
Ava Fisher, recently divorced and deeply unhappy, is trying to move away from the hurt and bitterness of her past. Then she's kidnapped by two strangers--aliens from a different time and place. More astounding is their claim that she carries a rare hormone and must mate with them to save their lives.
“I was married to one man for more than fifteen years, and we’d been together even longer. I don’t think he’s ever looked at me the way you do. Of course, if you were looking at the forty-year-old me, you might not…”
“Ava, there are many images of you in our file.” He shifted his body to access the screen in the co-pilot console. His gaze focused on the screen, and his eyes warmed at what he saw there. “This is the one that made me pause…when I knew it had to be you.”
“Oh, Joran,” she murmured, heart twisting, when he enlarged the image. O’Malley’s Bar. Karen and Robin beside her. Her fortieth birthday. “That was taken tonight…just a few hours ago.”
“I look so much older, chubbier.” Her nose scrunched as she grimaced, taking in her rounder cheeks and the small lines around her eyes. While she appeared happy and relaxed, all forty years shown in her face. “This is not my best picture.”
“You looked beautiful then…just like you do now.”
Ava eased off her seat and knelt beside Joran. Her fingers skimmed his shoulders as she leaned forward to brush her lips over his. “Joran, I’m ready. Let me help you—not because I have to but because I want to. I want to more than anything.”
